I know it makes no sense. But, unless you've lived there or know someone who lives there you can't understand it. Even I still don't get it.

in other threads and they didn't get it.

They were thinking that people weren't helping their neighbors and wondering why people were leaving town with their SUVs and trucks empty.

I couldn't get them to understand that it had nothing to do with people not being neighborly because if you wanted out you could get out. Some people just wanted to stay.

When I was telling them that I knew my people in NOLA they were like no you don't. People even doubted I was telling them the truth.

Folks from South La. said that at their shrimp boil (looked good by the way). They had no intention on leaving.

Her daughter and another were already in the dome. The rest of her family was gone. She could have left with them. She chose to stay.

is one of the primary instincts I think all of us have. That's why after 9-11 so many people stayed home for so long.

Also I would stay for my pets. If I couldn't bring them to safety I couldn't leave them to the elements alone. I love them too much.

That's the way I would feel if I were there.
