7. Bullshit
I saw the show. He made a comment about how they are checking people's bags for booze, drugs, gris-gris bags and whatnot.

Mike Hoss (who used to do Sports when I worked at WWL in early-90s) just looked at him and the show moved on.

Lay off the bong, junior.

12. "lay off the bong, junior...."
I'm not the only one who heard the remark, but you're correct-- the other talking head glossed right over it. Not very surprisingly.

Thanks-- it's been a long time since anyone called me "junior!"

17. Heh
I was kidding...

It's funny. I used to work at WWL a while back and Mike Hoss (the guy who semi-ignored the other guy) was Mr. Sports. Now he's a bit forlorn...granted, the story he's covering sucks. But it was the first time I'd seen Mike Hoss in years.

9. Well they are patting all those people down .. at the Super Dome.
I used to work with the homeless in Dallas, and I know exactly the effect that has. They turn and run from "the man." Look at the people in that line: people of color, for the most part. Poor for the most part (no big SUVs to pack up and leave in). Many homeless.

I saw an African American man in a wheelchair (probably homeless) on the news tonight snorting and saying, "Where the hell am I going to go!"

This harassment is either gross incompetence or blatant racism.

The "terrorist" bullshit sounds like a surrealistic spoof of Rawhide. The hurricane comes toward the "coral," the "cattle" are coming down the chute into the rodeo arena, and the Bad-Bad Bin Laden Gang is singing:

Move ‘em on, head ‘em up, head ‘em up, move ‘em out,
Move ‘em on, head ‘em out Rawhide!
Set ‘em out, ride ‘em in ride ‘em in, let ‘em out, cut ‘em out, ride ‘em in Rawhide.

Terra set to strike New Orleans tonight, and it's not Katrina!
Heh, heh, heh!

16. Bush Orders Attack on Weather
New Orleans -- President Bush ordered airstrikes on the weather Monday after Hurricane Katrina made an unprovoked attack on New Orleans.

"What we've seen is a terroristic action, completely unprovoked, on a peacaful, lovingly nation," the president said after ordering the airstrikes. "We will take the fight to them, the weather, and show that while they hate us for our freedome, the weather will not defeat us."

with the exception of most of NO, LA is very Republican, youll also notice there are alot of religious undertones in the broadcast, once again, south LA is VERY catholic.

whenever disaster strikes us there seem to always be kooks and nutsos coming out of the woodwork. I mean come on...an attack during a major hurricane in the area where the hurricane is active? Sounds sooooooooo far fetched
