I haven't really seen this covered in any substatial way today. But today is the 42nd anniversary of the March on Washington.
And speaking of the March on Washington, I'm always amazed at how the Repugs use Dr. King's words on that day, to say he wouldn't support certain policies of the left.
For example, they cite his expressed desire on that day, that his children would be judged not by the color of their skin, but by the quality of their character.
The Repugs say those words are proof that Dr. King would not have supported affirmative action.
What they don't realize, is that Dr. King also believed in course correction; he believed in corrective programs (which affirmative action is).
But on today, I just wanted to take a moment to pay homage to the March on Washington on this 42nd anniversary.
