4. A reporter from FL that made it to NO was on WWL earlier...

Said that they had a fiber link at Superdome, but it went out, so the only way to get media out of NO was via WWL... not sure if that info is accurate now though...

Fiber can't go "down". There is a lot of military defense facilities just outside of New Orleans.

They told Mr. Flashpants to go to the Quarter and hit WWL before then heading to the bars on Bourbon and Dumaine...if ya catch my drift...

then it could go 'down', and I'll bet that's what happened... Still takes some electricity to generate the signal across the fiber...

But who knows, the guy was from a national affiliate; he's plugging his 'brand'...

Just live video from a street in New Orleans. There's no sound, the lens if foggy (obviously), but the overall quality is still very good (although I don't know how much longer it will continue to be.)

Personally, I find watching the storm develop on live video to be very interesting, but it also gives me a bit of a sick voyeuristic type feeling. I feel a little guilty just watching this tragedy unfold live from my PC. Don't know if I'll continue watching once things get really bad.
