Palm Lakes in Slidell: is water coming up? We have evacuees

in our home and they are in a state, as you can imagine!

I know enough that anything within a dozen feet of sea level should expect water, but it will be much, much worse on the south and western end of the lakes.

Did their property get water in '64?

3. They have lived there for 35 years and never got water until

someone built a home on a 'wet' lot on their block. Then they got water since then that destroyed the inside of their house. Had it rebuilt and now they are expecting water.

2. What's happening in Lacombe? My in-laws live there.

My sister-in law is staying with her cousin in the Briar Lake subdivision tonight. As of 6pm everyone BELOW I-12 in St. Tammany Parrish is under a mandatory evacuation order. I hope they've left. She already left her house in the care of her son because it may flood. Maybe they have friends in Covington or Pearl River. I spoke with her late this afternoon and she was leaving her house after getting as much as possible off the floors. There are two shelters of last resort. One in Pearl River and one in Covington.
