1. given the rationality of Reichsmarschall Rumsfeld et al, no idea
It doesn't appear that any of the policies are guided by anything resembling fact.

One might even call it "faith-based foreign policy."

2. It depends
Does New Orleans have more oil than Iran?

Will Bush Pioneers and Rangers make more money off a new war or off the cleanup and rebuilding of New Orleans.

BushCo is a business arrangement, not a Presidency.

3. One would hope
But we had domestic problems that should have trumped the Iraq war and they still went ahead...

It is all about Dominionism and PNAC, I am afraid.

11. that's ok, I completely understand considering
I only decided to post this after I thought about it for a while. I figured it is just as valid as any other post predicting the future after the hurricane. I just hope that everyone is ok and the least amount of damage happens as possible.

6. if 9/11 couldn't derail them from invading Iraq...

then I don't see how the end of New Orleans could keep this administration from invading Iran.

10. He was planning the invasion long before 9/11....
he took a horrible event and twisted it in order to fit his plan. If the admin is bold enough, the destruction of oil refineries could be used as an excuse to invade Iran...as well as the tired old excuse of WMD and terrorism. I would love to be wrong, but if it happened, I wouldn't be surprised.

12. I suppose the Nazis could have just been
opportunistic after the Reichstag. I just saw 9/11 as being way too convenient for what this administration clearly wanted to do.
I'm not sure how they would do so, but if they can in any way use this to bolster support for Iran, they definitely will.

8. No-bid contracts for the reconstruction...in the US!
All freakin' right. If I'm sitting in the White House, I'd see this as another fabulous opportunity to enrich my buddies in the corporate world. Just award them billion-dollar contracts and look the other way when they pocket most of the cash. Who gives a fuck about the country! It's either own or be owned in our society, and I want to be the owner. I already got my piece of the cake; let the rest fight over the scraps!

13. As crazy as these neoCons are? No telling.
Hell, they might think it's a fine DISTRACTION
from an attack on Iran.

...yes? I don't mean to make light of the tragedy we're about to witness, but: it might slow Them down a bit. Maybe.

15. Nope!
It won't. However, may cut down on recruits.
Have you noticed most at the Dome are poor and/or black?
And most of the NG are in Iraq.
