Bob Schieffer is kicking some major ass on Wolfie (CNN - 5:40 pm)
Now, here's an experienced inside-the-beltway reporter who I can respect. Transcription by VolcanoJen...

WOLF: What do you make of this latest... I described it earlier almost as a "Perfect Storm" of politics here in Washington. Is this a scandal in the making?

SCHIEFFER: This is very serious matter. There are leaks, and then there are leaks. You have to be very, very careful about this kind of a leak, where obviously, some lives could be put in danger. I think that the president, from a political standpoint, needs to call his staff in and tell them 'who did this and why they did this,' by the close of business today. And the president can do that. Those people need to be seperated from the government. This is the kind of thing that can get totally out of hand, from a political standpoint, and unravel a presidency.

WOLF: Unravel the presidency? You're talking Watergate!

SCHIEFFER: When these people pulled the stupid stunt of breaking into the Democratic Headquarters, if Nixon would have immediately seperated himself from that, instead of going through these ridiculous cover stories, may have saved his presidency.

1. Well well this started in July
when it first broke I called it Watergate II, and yes
it is exactly that, and I do not expect Drumbyellla
to be bright enough to separte himself from Karl
Rove (as hinted by the guardian)

Yes check any online chronology
You will quickly notice that the Watergate analogy holds
water and we are ahead of schedule already...

If Bush fires Rove at the latest by Friday, he will be off the
hook.

Why I am saying Rove... the reporters off the record named a
single name to the Guardian, Rove.

7. Watergate definitely took longer. But that was 1974, and this is...
2003, and we have the Internet to thank for spreading the news in a firestorm-esque way...

Wolf: As you and I well know, going back a little bit, and you're more experienced than I, the coverup, if there is a coverup, and we don't know that there is, is almost always worse than the original crime, if there is a crime.

Schieffer: What is to be gained by the White House for letting this drag out over a matter of weeks? Do they think the Democrats are going to just sit down in a corner and say 'We'll just wait until you come back with an answer?' They're not going to do that. This is the Presidency!

I would bet Novakula had to shake out his pants after appearing with Wolfie. He was so rattled! I think he is really scared. He had a very hard time putting a sentence together.

9. Schieffer, much as I respect you, you MISSED the main issue.
This is a "national security" matter, a crime!!Americans are much less safe from proliferation of WMD's than before. Probably many of her contacts built up over many years are now dead. We will be years recovering from this national security disaster.

The Soviet Union would have been proud to devastate our spy network like this.

When will they ever learn, when will they ever learn.

11. Schieffer is doing a fine job.
He's an experienced political reporter, warning the Republicans that this kind of scandal can "unravel a presidency."

He's doing quite well, I think.

13. So, let's say Bush applies the Bush Doctrine...
... and executes a pre-emptive strike on Karl Rove.

Will this matter be closed? Who's to say that Rove won't be secretly pulling the curtain threads, behind-the-scenes?

15. If, Ma'am, Rove Is Actually Facing Trial And Prison, As He Ought To Be
He will have little energy to spare for giving political advice, and any he gives is not likely to be good. There is little can concentrate the mind, and instill a sense of proportion, like seeing a piece of paper headed United States of America v. your name here....

16. Don't forget that Shieffer and his brother were....
little bushie's business partner in the fake oil and baseball business venture. The Shieffers benefit bigtime through little man bushie's dirty business deals.

Shieffer is giving advise on how the bushies can protect their presidency, but doesn't give a rat's a$$ about the devastation to national security and the life of Mrs. Wilson.

for treason.

No joke, no exaggeration, and I don't give a shit what party they're from.

This should not be a partisan issue whatsoever
