2. Nope. Just one. It is a little lower than the Mississippi
levees. They raised some of the Ponchatrain levees last year, but have not completed the work.

12. I know...me too...
We had reservations and everything back in 2002, but my company was hanging on by its fingernails, so we can canceled them and saved the money to pay bills, because we didn't know how much longer I was going to be employed.

Now I'm even sadder that we didn't go. This just sickens me.

14. Now they are reporting that NO may not be flooded after all....
They are reporting contradictory info....so we probably should take the info at face value until we know more...

13. NO will need the tourist dollars, once this is cleaned up...
Don't rule out a trip to the Big Easy just yet.

16. I know...I was there, once, and it was wonderful.
Beautiful city, friendly people, terrific food...and travel/lodging was inexpensive.

We plan a trip to Vegas every year, but I'm thinking of changing that to NO for next year. Another couple was just talking about going there, a few weeks back.

5. Just said hundreds were on top of their houses
waiting for rescue and that rescue would be slow to come and the rain would just keep making the water rise...

9. This guy's got a cutaway graphic
of New Orleans that illustrates the depth of various spots in the city vis a vis the floodwalls. The place is basically a hole in the ground.

11. On a lighter note
Did anyone hear Shep's interview with a NO resident yesterday? The guy was out walking his dogs around 3:00pm yesterday. Shep asked him "why are you still here?" The guy answered, "None of your fucking business" I think Crooks & Liars has it posted.

It was a funny moment in an otherwise scary newsday. For the rest of the day that was our response to each other when asked a question. Whats for dinner? None of your....
