1. I don't think so. I heard on CNN a few hours ago
that the folks in the Super Dome were eating MREs and drinking gatorade.

But I think if someone showed up empty handed, they wouldn't turn them away.

3. They were encourage to bring food and water
It was unclear how long they would be isolated so they wanted people to be as self-sufficient as possible.

4. Initially everyone was told they had to bring their own
food, water and personal needs. That this was only a shelter of last resort and they weren't there to feed people--only to save lives.
However, around 10-11 last night, the National Guard brought in 300,000 MRE's and bottled water. Enough to last for a couple days.

8. They told them to bring food and wateer to supplement the MREs
and Gatorade to be provided by the National Guard and the City of NO.
They may have to stay for several days and they'll need all of the extra provisions that they brought. The damge in NO and surrounding parrishes is very bad.
