I just talked to my friend in Mobile
She walked outside and you can hear the wind blowing and howling. It almost sounds like a tornado is going over
She said big oak trees were snapped in half like twigs.
Right now, they are worried about floods and tornadoes, but she feels the worst has gone over.
She said she was going to go out and take some pics with her cellphone and try to send them to me. Will post them when I get them.
Thanks for your prayers.

2. I'm glad she's OK. I'm about to call my sister-in law in Lacombe, LA.
The storm passed almost directly over them. The flooding is just starting.

Just in: Over 770,000 power customers out of service for maybe a MONTH in NO. Looting in NO. Bad flooding in St. Bernard Parrish.

All phone and cell phone service is out. Slidell has suffered catastrophic damage according to first reports. No eyewitness reports from Slidell yet. Lacombe is west of Slidell. I hope they missed the worst. The eye went right over Slidell. :(

Gov. Haley Barbour's on tV right now. First casulty reports are coming in in a few minutes. They can't get over to the coast. Biloxi was destroyed. First reported deaths are inland.

4. My thoughts about this is like seeing a car skidding out of control..and
though we personally are not in the path of the car careening out of control we know people in cars that are in the way...and we hold our breath..and pray the car that is spinning and sliding will not kill everyone it could but is very likely to take out some of the other autos..we hope it is going to the least amount of damage..though we are too afraid to believe it will be a happy ending.

This in fact happened to me once on the interstate, though I could not say I knew anyone in the path of that careening truck, and I was not in danger, but I shook and feared for the devastation that truck could do to innocent people just driving home from work.
