1. By weeks end? Some of us are already there. I haven't seen what the
hurricane did to our prices today, but I'm sure they aren't pretty. I'm expecting 3 and over by the end of this week.

2. $2.59 a gallon in Indiana today. Long lines at the gas pumps and
people are filling up with fuel prices soon to be on the rise.

3. I don't understand why Democrats aren't howling about Bush's lack of
action on this. Our entire economy is effected by high gas prices GRRRR!

8. Because they're alright. They have a job, pensions, and gas...
No shirt off their back. The politicians in this country are useless for the things Americans universally really do care about. Sure there are a few Dem's here or there that actually work but there are just too many that are worthless. Take money from the corporate world--do nothing.

6. In Bush's own words
Here's what Bush said in 2000 when gas was selling for $1.60:
"What I think the president ought to do is he ought to get on the phone with the OPEC cartel and say we expect you to open your spigots. One reason why the price is so high is because the price of crude oil has been driven up. OPEC has gotten its supply act together, and it's driving the price, like it did in the past. And the president of the United States must jawbone OPEC members to lower the prices" The New York Times, 9/29/00; George Bush, Republican Primary Debate, Manchester, NH, 1/26/00

9. Yeah well that was just to slam Gore and get 'elected'.
The 'librul' media should be throwing that quote around 24/7, along with the pic of Bikey W strolling hand in hand with the Saudi Prince. That might wake up a few of the morans who believe the little worm has their best interests at heart.
