A lot of it uncut. Just incredible stuff. Also the difference in the coverage is just amazingly more real than the national newscasts. These reporters are obviously affected and touched by this and keep talking about people they know in the areas and where their homes are. If you want the real story, forget CNN and the national networks and watch WDSU.com streaming over the web.

35. Where is that? They've mentioned 9th and 8th wards as being

parcially/mostly flooded. I can't remember which was partial and which was mostly but as the helicopter flies over there's not much in that area that isn't at least half way up the buildings with water. They showed the area along I-10 on the east side as being under water. They showed the club by the marina as being on fire (said has been there forever, many weddings there through history), boats tossed around. Some shops in downtown area have windows broken open and general hurricane damage from winds and rain but the worst was in the 8th and 9th wards. French quarter seems to be spared the worst of the damage. I've seen wind and rain damage but not as bad as other places.

39. So was Jeanne Meserve on Aaron Brown CNN just now...can't tell if it

was genuine or not, but it sounded like it! (Just heard a portion of it) The footage was awesome. The mall in Metarie was completely submerged, as were all other shots of this area. I lived there for a year in 1994, and can't quite remember all of the streets, but many friends lived in Metarie(sp?) and I think its all submerged?!? I lived in Lakeside, Canal Blvd. close to the Lake...anyone know if this area of NO is wasted?

anchors/reporters in the storm.

I've been streaming WDSU when I can. I especially liked when this station showed video of a WFOR reporter running into the storm in NO to show what it's like and they basically were calling him an idiot. Saying while they want to cover the storm as much as possible they don't want their reporters endangering themselves and their camera persons by pulling stupid stunts like that.

Naturally I later saw the idiot's report on CNN.

What amazing footage...what a great tribute to survival and offering a helping hand to those that need it most.

Like the one reporter said, the aerial footage was stunning and tragic and this rescue footage (which should be preserved uncut) offers hope in the darkest time.
