9. Democrats could learn a lot from Limbaugh

I know a guy who goes along with Limbaugh and actually believes that Fox News is fair and balanced. At least, that's what he says - the truth is that he just flat out doesn't know up from down. He's on that side of the fence not because he's given any thought to his political beliefs (he hasn't - simple fact, not an insult, I like the guy) but because Limbaugh gives him a club to belong to.
The fact is that Limbaugh does something the Democrats have been, to this point, unable to do. He provides a "club" that his listeners/followers can belong to. People who would otherwise have not the faintest idea of what their own political convictions are can have some notion of where they stand just by joining the club. You could argue that Hitler, early on, did much the same thing. The Democrats have utterly failed to grasp this concept and put it to any use. Where's the club that a political naif could join on our side? There isn't one. There's a lot of people for whom simply being accepted is more important than politics.
When some Democrat can get the ball rolling in this way, when Joe Sixpack starts to think that there's a club - a large, welcoming group that offers acceptance of him just as he is - to be joined on this side of the fence, then the Republicans will be defeated and it will be decisive.
