trying to evacuate? did tehy all make it out in time, or were there people still stuck in their cars in traffic? I assume they made it out or else we'd have heard about it and there'd be a higher death toll, but it seemed like the lines going out of town was taking way too long.

2. Interstates worked out OK |
|
The worst route was actually the highway (Airline) if you were going West.
It looked bad and took hours to move, but traffic flowed out of N.O. on interstates.
I watched alot of video out of N.O. on Sunday.

5. My daughter and her SO |
|
arrived safely after about twelve hours travel time. They got off I-10 onto 90 and came to Lafayette through Houma. Was a very trying day. They have probably lost everything, though their apartment was on the second floor. Fortunately they carried their business out on their shoulders, their computer equipment. However they left a lovely apartment filled with my original artwork. They must have had at least ten paintings and two or three drawings. This breaks my heart. I don't believe I even have photos of this artwork. They are luckier than most; their apartment was insured and they do not have to live in NO to work.

7. what a terrible day, I am glad they made it out safely but |
|
know how devastating the loss of original artwork is.
that sounds like a hellish riad trip, how did they not run out of gas? did they bring extra gas with them? I was wondering about that with all the traffic and long waits.
