Cant they bring in the NG from other states?

I did hear the governor of Alabama was sending some of his NG to Mississippi and Louisiana, but they have big problems of their own.

What about other states totally unaffected?

Where is the help?

This is just awful to watch.

I think it is, and if so well each governor has a certain calculus to do in his head about whether or not to send aid. Plus he may not be able to send aid unless it is requested?

I expect it will happen, but were Arkansas and Texas prepared to move? Do they have the equipment? Do they have the people, or are they earmarked for deployment to Iraq or in Iraq now or just getting back from Iraq?

7. I first asked this question on Sunday. Air National Gaurd from across

the country should be there. What the fuck are people in power thinking right now? Every American right now watching this epic tragedy unfold is tearing themselves up thinking of how they could possibly help and these people in positions of power that could do SO much... what are they thinking?

11. Montana's Guard only has one helicopter left stateside

Montana is the fourth largest state in area and our Guard is left with ONE helicopter. While we don't get much flooding here, fire is guarenteed and those birds are needed to keep fire fighiting ground crews alive.

Our Guard troops are good citizens and would probably love to be helping get people out of the floods. Many are in Iraq along with most of their resources.

The Guard is a Citizen Army - made up of citizens FOR citizens. It was never intended to be mobilized abroad except for the most serious of war efforts. The Iraq War on People For Profiteering COrporations DOES NOT qualify for such an extreme emergency!

Make sure the neocons ard dogged, everywhere they go and anywhere they speak, with chants of "Where's OUR Guard!" We need to make them prisoners in their own friggin think tanks, unable to set foot in public for fear of our exposing them for the whores they are for letting citizens die while they creat conditions favorable only to corporations!
