They can't believe that the MSM is in such denial!

Female anchor: "Are they seeing what we're seeing?"

Here's what some DUers are seeing: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=104x4507781

Iraq, the economy, the environment are one thing.

BUT THERE IS A MAJOR DISASTER IN A MAJOR US CITY! MIGHT AS WELL HAVE A SMALL NUKE GO OFF AS FAR AS DAMAGE AND LIVES ARE CONCERNED!

The MSM must be incompetent or just uncaring.

4. Water rising, martial law, levy breaks, rescues,
water flooding around the Superdome where streets were dry yesterday, dead bodies floating through the streets, no phone coverage at all in an area code, etc., etc., etc.

7. That others are saying that New Orleans didn't get hit as bad
...as it could have.

She (WDSU host) said things there are getting steadily worse and it it much worse than imagined.

22. That was because such ASSISTED Fearless Fuhrer
whereas decreasing the amount of damage, like playing that phony Saddam-statue-toppling psy-op also ASSISTS Der Fuhrer.

Whichever helps the cause of Der Fuhrer, is which side will get played. That has become firghteningly axiomatic since Fuhrer seized the nation in 2000.

If it helps their cause, then it's what will be done.

One of the things I dislike about living under Totalitarianism is it's predictablility.

And all things serve Der Fuhrer. When they want us to panic again, they'll let us know (and so will every MSM TV and radio station)

17. There are greater interests at stake
If word would get out about just how bad things are in NO, public opinion would force the government to put much more effort -and money- into rescue and reconstruction.

13. All the pretty blonde white people are in hotels in Texas
Would the MSM have carred if 3,000 people died in the Ninth Ward on 9/11? Would we have gone to war for them?

To me, this is bigger than 9-11. An entire major American city is decimated. If the backflooding continues, the entire city will be flooded. At least half a million people will be made refugees.

You don't like that view. Fine. Fuck you. I don't care.

I expect the federal government to spend every bit as much to save my native city as they spent on the war in Iraq, if that's what it takes.

14. They see it, they just Don't Get It.
It's water, they've seen it before in other places. They just do not understand New Orleans' unique situation.

They're focusing on the fact that it didn't get hit as badly as it could have.

They're focusing on places, that are hard-hit, but that are frankly, easier to get on-the-ground stories from...in short...Business-as-usual.
