. . . international aid? Will NO soon resemble Darfur in that respect?

2. It seems to be what is happening
If it weren't for DU, I would think that this was over and it wasn't that bad.

This is a huge tragedy - this should be the country's #1 priority right now.

3. Darfur
Hugo Chavez offered aid this AM; I think we can rest assured it will be rejected for political reasons. Media (for some unforeseeable reason) seems to downplay the importance of what's happened in New Orleans. I know the comparison between NO and Darfur is weak, but I can't for the life of me come up with any other comparisons.
