So, at what point does our IDIOT President Address the Nation?
WTF else is he waiting for? A death count? Shit, a major city is completely flooded and getting worse. 30,000 people are effectively trapped in a stinkpile arena with no electricity, and lack of hygiene.

I guess we're supposed to be impressed he cut his summer break by a day. Whoop dee fucking do.

How many people in this country know how dire the situation really is?

Edited on Tue Aug-30-05 04:06 PM by melissinha
Remember when he flew back immediately for Terri?

Also, how much fuel is he using ON his vacation trying to drum up support for himself.... we could use that fuel and could really save a lot of $$ on $38 k per trip if he didn't go galavanting on the taxpayers' money when we are in sich deficit.

22. Not too many corporate conservatives trying to promote an agenda
with Katrina like there was with Schiavo. Hence, no urgency from the Whitehouse. Disgusting.

6. A real president would have already addressed the country at least twice
by now. There is no excuse for his silence yesterday. None.

He just doesn't care.

13. I understand that he can't be there now, but come on, just reassure
the citizens of this country and, more importantly, the citizens of LA, MS, & AL, that the hurricane victims are the most important thing right now. Not oil, not Iraq, not Social Security. People's lives take first priority, and Bush has not shown that he agrees with this, even in the face of such a horrible calamity. Just get on TV and fake your sympathy, it's the least you can do, dubya...

20. The Minnesota Red Lake Band of Chippewa Indians are probably feeling
less slighted. Bush didn't utter a single word for days after that massacre, which had killed ten students.

7. Most of the country is in the dark as to the real problems here...
I predict the number of fatalities will exceed 9/11. We haven't even scratched the surface of understanding this disaster. I guess once the death counts start to rise, idiot son will speak...

26. If they do, and I think they will
They'll fuck it up somehow. It'll come across as fake as it really is. My guess is that the people who are in the most serious trouble aren't going to be too happy to see Smirk boy photo-opping while they suffer.

To pitch in and help, This is straight up disgusting for the president to be AWOL during this. Every hour this gets deadlier, Those people need help NOW. If only he would pitch saving lives as hard as he worked for war!

31. It's not as if this were Bush's first NO SHOW
Edited on Tue Aug-30-05 04:31 PM by lebkuchen
He didn't show to Vietnam, didn't show to his college classes, didn't show to his NG duty, was AWOL from 9-11, hasn't shown up to a single military funeral, went mute when the ten students in Minnesota were shot, refuses to talk to a mother who lost a child in Iraq, and now this...

This is the way Bush "operates." In short, he is a COWARD.

25. His silence is deafening
He can't speak from the heart so he is waiting for his writers to give him the final draft of his feelings and concern. Meanwhile his photo ops team is searching for the perfect setting.

Time to be serious, Mr. President.
