He has a staunch Bush supporting co-worker who engaged him in a conversation this afternoon about Hurricane Katrina. (I'll call the guy Rob)
---------------
Rob: Man, that Lousiana government is just really screwed up. Someone needs to go down there and take control of the situation.
Hubby: Oh, you mean like the federal government?
Rob: Exactly!
Hubby: Would that be the federal government that sent 30% of Louisiana's national guard to Iraq so they aren't there to help out now?
Rob: Um....
Hubby: Or the federal government that slashed emergency preparedness funding to the area. Or maybe the federal government that allowed FEMA to pay Miami residents for damage we suffered last year. (We were affected by Frances and Jeanne last year.)
Rob: Um...
Hubby: Oh wait, one more thing. (shows him the picture of Bush playing the official presidential guitar) This is what our federal government is doing to help out after the disaster.

This is highly uncharacteristic of my husband. He tends to remain low key when politics come up at work. Way to go hubby!
