Heard from my friend in Slidell, LA --
her and her family have escaped to Tuscaloosa, Ala. They won't be allowed to pick up the pieces and return to Slidell for a MONTH. :(

3. I saw footage on CNN just recently
The whole place was under water. I have friends who live there and there is a canal right next to their house. I can only imagine.. Its just so awful. I am waiting to see if they have any footage from the West Bank where another good friend lived.

5. Heard it on CNN --
"All of Slidell is underwater."

Of course, that may have been said in the heat of the moment, and could be hyperbole, but Slidell appears to have gotten hit pretty hard.
