Let me explain.
Morality is probably not the right word, but the GOP has done everything it can to convince the kool aid drinkers they are somehow the party of all that is "good." You know the whole compassionate conservatism thing.
I'm frustrated right now, so if the words aren't coming out right then forgive me. I ramble alot at times like these.
What set me off was a conversation by the pro-GOP guys I work with me, with regard to the tragedy in the areas affected by the hurricane.
"That's a bad deal, but when you live in a bowl below sea level, you are playing Russian roulette. Besides with all the sin that goes on in New Orleans it was only a matter of time before it caught up with them."
They also found a way to steer the conversation to Cindy Sheehan and people who are opposed to the war. "Maybe all those Democrats down there in Louisiana and Mississippi won't hate Bush so much now that he is going to save their asses" is a direct quote from that conversation. Another is "Yea, they can have one big Cindy Sheehan love in and run down the troops."
Nevermind the numerous holes we can shoot into that statement, that's not the important part. What is important is the EVIL at a time when we all need to be united as HUMAN BEINGS. These people are serious. The same people who purport to be good, church going, God fearing people.
But they have that lock. As if Democrats don't go to church, or donate to charity, or love their children.
I hope this post makes sense. As I said before I am really rattled right now.
