The Clar/Dean was bait, sorry.
A little background should help...He came to our "community development" department from the private sector. This was to be his "retirement" job, at the early age of 45. Let's put it this way, he was a VERY successful architect that designed million dollar homes, plus his parents left him loaded. When he started he was a Bush voter, he was your typical selfish (Oblivious) Libertarian. Over that time however, 2 years, things have taken such a ridiculous turn on the national (and local, I won't even start on his new ideas about affordable housing, you brain might melt) scene, that during a normal conversation today, he said the unthinkable to my more Liberal co-worker, "I've learned a lot since I started here. There are corporate forces that absolutely must be stopped or the average person will be screwed.". An article in the SF Gate about Levi's was the topic of conversation.
What happened? I guess two years of "waking up"? I (Interjected myself into the two older men's conversation) then asked him who he'd vote for and he said ABB! He HATES Bush now! I then asked what were the real issues and he said National Healthcare, and that in his view, as a successful small business person, that this would be the ONE thing that he wouldn't have cared to pay. He said it's not only the "Right" thing to do it also the "Smart" thing to do...I guess healthy draftsmen are better than whiners and dead ones?
National Healthcare from a guy that hated all government?!
My guess is that he'll register Dem soon because I've given him a fat helping of all of our candidates (He likes Dean, Clark and, believe it or not Kucinich! Apparently DK's attitude appeals to him.) and he'll want to vote for the person that smites Bush.
My point? There isn't one really...Except that we're getting backers one by one, the hard way too, with facts.
