6. At the end of the day...
Whatever.

I say, let Arnold win; then we can blame the REPtiles when nothing changes in CA.

If Davis started acting like a Democrat BEFORE the recall, he wouldn't be in this situation. He deserves the boot. Then we can easily beat Arnold with a REAL Democrat in a landslide next time :)

13. No, you are incorrect...
things will change and not for the better if
Arnold wins. Davis has done somethings well and
some badly but this recall is not democracy as
normal it is the tactic of people attempting
to consolidate one party rule by corporations
in the nation.

Davis stands against this by being in the middle
of the road Arnold will deliver for his big money
backers with anti-enviroment, anti-labor, and
anti-civil rights policys using all the levers
available backed by the experts of dirty tricks
from Texas.

You should vote No on the recall Yes on Bustamante
and No on 54.

Where do you stand on these issues?

I support Dean do you?

Green on part 2. Bustamante betrayed his party and does not deserve its votes. If he didn't split the ranks, Davis wouldn't be in jeopardy now.

think you should consider Bustamante. I think
a world of difference exist between Arnold and
Cruz. I am not one to knock Camejo as many here
do but it will make a difference if it is close
which poll not withstanding I believe it is.

Cruz has a much better stand on corporations
and the enviroment than Arnold who is a trojan
horse for the Bushies.

28. Sorry to here it.
You may want to be less harsh about Clark
being an independent if you are ready to put
party last in part 2.

I have some of the same fears about Clark that
you do but am with holding judgement until he
gets some treadwear. He may fold up. He may
end up being on a ticket with Dean even if they
snipe at each other in the primaries.

What was the betrayal that you hold against Cruz
joining the race at all?

31. Principle over party
I believe in principle over party.

It is no secret that Cruz and Davis HATE each other (remember his Parking Space?). Cruz went against the wishes of the party by entering the fray (remember how DiFi and Boxer stayed out?).

So, his entry into the race was a betrayal of party, and he doesn't deserve to be rewarded for that.

There is no need for Cruz, nor was there ever, if Davis simply wins part 1, right? But, Cruz has taken much of the focus off part 1, which makes it harder to keep Davis in office.

You're the reason we're going to lose. Davis was always done for. Bustamante running was a smart move. Too bad it were Davis-lovers that were willing to destroy the entire Democratic Party and the state of California.

Thanks a lot.

46. Have to disagree with you here
I like Camejo better than Cruz, but I am voting No/Bustamante. Here's why:

1. This recall threatens the will of the voters who chose Gray Davis last year. By rights, the governor's seat belongs to Gray Davis and the Democratic party. If Davis loses the office, then at least it should be preserved for the Democrats.

2. In any other situation where the governor can't fulfill his duties, the Lt. Governor takes over. It should be no different here.

3. The Republicans hate Cruz even more than Davis. It would be poetic justice to see them get burned by their own treachery.

21. Well, considering that this is a place for Democrats
And Clark is not even REGISTERED as a Democrat (probably even a nominal Republican), my statement holds true. Clark should fall "outside the logical distribution of 'Democrats'".

I'm telling you... Clark is a ploy; he was concocted by the Vast Right Wing COnspiracy to keep Bush in office. How? I think his true colors will come out in the general election if he wins the nomination when he throws the election, giving Bush an easy win.

Not convinced? Look at his credentials. Military-industrial complex drone; speaks at GOP gatherings until he arbitrarily decides to become a Democrat; voted for NIXON and RAY-GUN; etc. Honestly, how could any of us, in good faith, vote for this guy?

It's like Republicans voting for Arnold over McClintock because they think Arnold can win (and we ridicule them for it).

them anything you like.

Whether you like it or not, Clark is running as a Democrat, and it is NOT okay to bash his supporters or call them non-progressives.

Next time you register for a message board, read the rules first. You are coming close to some real violations here.

Have you read up on Clark's issues?

would consider cutting defense spending if elected, he said. "We are trapped in .....an endless occupation" of Iraq".

Supports University of Michigan's affirmative action plan. (Jun 15)

“We went into Iraq under false pretenses. There was deceptive advertising; you'd be taking to the Better Business Bureau if you bought a washing machine the way we went into the war in Iraq.”

”We're taking casualties. We haven't made America safer by this. We've made America more engaged, more vulnerable, more committed, less able to respond. We've lost a tremendous amount of goodwill around the world by our actions and our continuing refusal to bring in international institutions. “

Compared Bush to Nixon in abusing his power to bully Congress and US allies. "This is an administration which has moved in a way we have not seen any administration since Nixon to abuse executive authority to scheme, manipulate, intimidate and maneuver.”

"We've found many times in our experience that it's best to use force only as a last resort."

”Why are so many here in America hesitant to speak out and ask questions? We're going to ask those hard questions. And in a time of war, we're going to ask those questions in the highest sense of patriotism. We are going to hold the administration accountable for its policies and results.”

"I'm concerned about the lock-up policy, the 3-strikes policy, putting people in jails and the way we've treated people in prison. We've got to look seriously at the American penal system and what it does when it returns people to the streets."

Full sunshine review of PATRIOT Act. (Jun 19)

The give-it-up, your guy is gonna lose stuff is an old tactic--take a race that's pretty close, jerk up some "polls" or pundits to call the show, then sit back and wait for voters to give up and stay home. Why bother to vote if it's already decided.

22. hate to say it but
this survey usa poll is close to the Gallup and LA times polls. I guess the California Field poll will be out later this week or weekend and I generally have most faith in that one, so we will see what they say. But...the trend is not good. The only thing that can save either Davis or Bustamante is a huge turnout among Democratic base and it sounds like the GOP is more motivated to turnout. What the hell is wrong with our democrats anyway? don't they see what the GOP is trying to do?

40. 681 "certain voters"
This is weak. I'm beginning to smell a rat. The Gallup, LA Times, and now this. Their numbers are all pretty similar. They all ask "certain voters" or "probable voters."

If the same question were asked of say REGISTERED FUCKING VOTERS, maybe the results would be different. These polls are basing these numbers on one huge assumption. They think more Republicans will vote than Democrats.

Turnout is key. Davis has fucked this thing so royally that I think he is done. But Bustamante can still do it.

He needs the 45% that are voting against the Recall.

This is why I hate, and have always hated Gray Davis. He puts us in these situations.
