I feel completely useless right now for the Katrina victims.
I donated $45 to The Red Cross & $50 to The Salvation Army.
But when you see these people on tv stranded on their rooftops- without water, food, or anywhere to go...

I immediately think of orphanages, seniors who were stranded, animals, people losing family members... homes, businesses.

I wish there was something more that I could do- that all of us could do. It must be terrifying to be so unsure of what tomorrow holds.

Meanwhile we don't have enough National Guardsman because that fuck-stick in the Oval office has pillaged our resources so that they can be stranded, scared, hot & thirsty in Iraq.

You know, since * TOOK office it's been one sad f'n catastrophe after another.

1. Since * took office, a dark, ominous cloud has hung...
...over this country, as if we've been cursed. With that bellicose, pretentious, self-serving moron in charge of things, we indeed have been utterly cursed.

2. Patience
I know the human instinct is to want to help immediately, but there will still be a need for help tomorrow, next week, next month.

There are folks who are able to help now, who won't be able to help later because they will be too exhausted.

The need you can fill, will appear at the proper time. It's up to you to fill it then, when no one else can.

3. Tomorrow
Begin to become involved in your town's local democracy. Jump into the process to make sure your town does not suffer the same kind of fate the citizens of New Orleans are suffering; be it air pollution, nuke plants, nuke bombs, or whatever, help your town avert a possible coming disaster.

Let this be a lesson for all of us: if we trust the powers that be with our future, they may just fail as they did in New Orleans. There were any number of things that could have been done in New Orleans, don't let that be said about your town.
