WDSU reporter just said tens of thousands still in their homes...

Anyone else hear these numbers. If this is true, tonight may be the deadliest night of the storm as they are expecting up to 9 feet of additional flooding.

1. A) How are they gonna get the word? B) Who's gonna rescue them?

They are out of daylight now too.

2. So far, with boats and helicopters, they rescued ~1,200 people...

At that rate, it would take weeks to rescue "tens of thousands".

3. I just talked to some people on the ground in NO a few minutes ago.

The water is bad on the east side of the city, lakeview, and Kenner and rising through downtown into the garden district. Lots of the city has no water yet. Uptown on the St. Charles side is water free and Claiborne is not too bad yet. As you go farther Uptown it is even better. A lot of those people in their homes still are on dry land. The ones I talked to are getting the hell out now.

4. Everything in New Orleans is going to flood now

The "Bowl Effect" is happening in the next 12-15 hours.

St. Charles will have 9ft of water at that point according to the mayor.

5. A levy has failed (another one) breaking news on now--

the French Quarter and most of the historic district will be 15 feet under water in the next 10-12 hours.

6. Same levee (17th street). Efforts to save it came up short.

All those areas that make N.O. special are gonna be done for.

7. I know and I am devastated by that.

Right now I am helping people find places to go. Several are on their way to my house.

My point was only that there is time for people to get out and they should if they can.
