Aaron Brown pounding the National Guard shortage issue
Brought it up three times and after the NO Mayor interview brought it up again and repeated that the Mayor said he wished the National Guard were already there. They're arriving from other states and Brown said at the end of the hour a lot of people are going to be asking WHY WEREN'T THEY ALREADY THERE.

5. Everything heads back to Iraq and what a
fubared situation it is. The question now is how it affects us. My question is, what has this admin done to help the soldiers in Iraq with family in the path of this hurricane? Have they helped with communication at all?

7. Damn right, he should. We all should.
The hurricane's devastation makes me sad; the knowledge that a lot of suffering could have been spared had Bush not frittered away so much money (and still more lives) in his Middle East fantasyland makes me SICK with rage. I have HAD IT with these assclowns. I want them GONE. OUT. FINISHED. Who's with me??

20. i buy cheep white sheets..
and spray paint and cans of paint and i out line with magic marker ( make sure you put plastic underneat..a drop cloth as paint will go through....i have an upper deck..but i have done out of top floor windows as well..but i use those plastic ties and i attach to whatever i find...now i tie something heavy in bottom corners.( i am using large batteries..so it weihs down the bottom in wind..but i gather fabric in corners and use plastic ties and make a pouch and put battery in it and tie with the plastic ties..
i usually spray paint the letters and then go over it with real paint..water proof paint...with a paint brush...a wide paint brush..

its simple

i have also used white plastic table cloths..( cheap ) with the fiber stuff on inside ..it weighs it down in the wind!!

good luck!!print real big though so drivers can read easliy!

10. The neocons all ready know that the Guard shortage will be used against...
them.

I heard Limbaugh today. He ranted about the liberals who are politicizing the hurricane by suggesting that there weren't enough National Guard to help--because Bush sent them all to Iraq.

We, the liberals, have barely even made that point.

The neocons, through Limbaugh--are trying to twist the facts--even before the facts are thoroughly debated. This entire country understands that Bush has sent many National Guard troops to Iraq, and it's pretty obvious that we don't have the NG numbers that we need in LA.

It's a no brainer. They're busted.

So, what do they do? They ask Limbaugh to discredit the facts and to twist reality for them.

14. The Guard is in Iraq -
and Limbaugh's rants won't change it.

They are the Governor's "Natural Disaster Army" - period.

15. These repugs know ONE trick: the pre-emptive attack
and that's because they know how weak their position is from the start, and that someone will call them on it.

12. Good on 'im!
We need to keep pounding this point. We need to chant and shout it anytime ANY member of the junta tries to speak/lie in public. We gotta hound them like Cindy did the Coward In Crawford, with a simple question which demands an answer: Why is the National Guard in Iraq (in harms way in a contrived war based on lies and for corporate profit) instead of Guarding the Nation?

Hound them. Dog them. Haunt them. Make them afraid to come out of their fucking offices, think tanks, and country club bars again! Hold them ACCOUNTABLE! They love to talk accountability. String them up with their own fucking words.

17. He just went into an old Jamie McIntire report by saying
that many of LA's guard were in Iraq, but the Pentagon says they have enough. The report had the FEMA guy saying they were going to block up the levees and you know that didn't happen. Supposedly, they have 31,000 from the LA, MS, AL and another state.

Brown's face at the end of his intro was a grumpy "I'm not buying it" sort of look.

After the piece, they had McIntire on live and Brown said it seems like they have enough people.....Referred to the blogs, etc. and the politically charged nature of the Guard issue...McIntire says they are...stressing the military is in a "support" role...but locals may be so overwhelmed that the military have to do more....Need coordination.

"inevitable lack of coordination" and Brown smiles "we all know that happens" (sic)
