ATTEMPTED MURDER OF CIA AGENT VALERIE PLAME

Editorials and columns regarding the sinister Bush Administration
exposure of CIA agent Valerie Plame, wife of former US charge d'affaires
to Iraq Joseph Wilson, fail to demonstrate a clear understanding of what
actually took place. Media reports treating the exposure as an attempt
to embarrass Mr. Wilson underrate the significance.

Valerie Plame was a clandestine field agent working under corporate
cover. The exposure of an undercover field agent is considered
tantamount to a death sentence that requires immediate remedial action.

The intentional exposure of field agents by government officials is not
unknown. Espionage is a dirty business and agents have knowingly been
sacrificed for strategic and tactical purposes. During World War II
agents were trained for missions to areas where their captures were
certain. They were given false information for the Nazis to extract for
deception purposes. Such deception operations were highly successful.
The Nazis did not believe the United Kingdom and the United States could
be that ruthless.

The exposure of Valerie Plame is in a class by itself. Mr. Wilson
offended the Bush Administration by insisting that the public was
informed that false information had been disseminated by the President
himself.

4. This is what I been saying. They are diverting us from the real issue.

Anybody who knows anything about espionage, knows that exposing an agent is indeed a death sentence. It constitutes attempted murder in my book, as well as treason. They have been hawking this "the guilty party could serve as much as ten years" bullshit. That right there was what made me think they were going to sacrifice someone.

Ten years my ass. This is death penalty material. Its not just the killing of the wife, but there may be other agents who are also exposed now that she is exposed.

It makes me sick to my stomach that someone put a lot of people's lives in danger, just to get revenge on someone or to intimidate someone.

I'll consider this ridiculous. As far as I know, Wilson has only referred to the laws about revealing operatives. Even those charges are not necessarily likely to result in criminal convictions.

This sentence is a red flag for me as far as this article:

But one of the reasons this thing is gaining the resonance it has with the people is that most stories introducing it include that her brief was monitoring prokiferation of nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons. I forget his name now, Aldridge, that's him, were paid so much by the soviets to expose agents? And when they did, lots of people died. The whole network goes down.

You can read about this in the espionage cases. It was a disgusting thing to do. On all sides. Novak says they didn't tell him that he couldn't use it, but my question is, did Novak ask THEM if he could use it.

And whoever leaked it, committed attempted murder on several people. That's why they keep trying to belittle wife's role in CIA. If she was a secret agent, then outting her was tantamount to an invitation to murder.
