1. Seems Like A Long Shot
Since when did cruise lines care about anyone but paying customers?

3. Even then
Even then, its a big stretch. My wife and I have cruised a couple times and were very disappointed in the service. Once you get on the ship, they dont give a damn about you either way. These bloodsuckers wont do anything that won't make them a handsome profit.

4. I don't like this idea
We arent the rescuers. We dont need to intrude and take matters into out hands.

9. You're absolutely right (and 3500 is one of the bigger boats).
Plus, those boats aren't designed to be semi-permanent residences for the passengers.

6. It's a great idea
They don't mind staying in harbours full of tourists for international sports events on shore so why not this crisis situation.

7.  They are going to do it (cruise ships)
http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20050831/ap_on_re_us/katrina_new_orleans

"The Federal Emergency Management Agency is considering putting people on cruise ships, in tent cities, mobile home parks, and so-called floating dormitories — boats the agency uses to house its own employees."
