I heard Gov. Blanco intimate that's where this thing is headed...problem is where do you get the boats and where do you dock them?
Boats are the best answer right now...they can get the most people out of there.
People keep posting about getting out of town, but from most reports, there's only one major road now accessible to some of the city area, and then where do you go?
At least with boats, these people can be taken hundreds of miles away from that living hell, given some sanitation, clean water, food and other necessities. We'll have to set up refugee camps (since this is what they are) and be prepared to house these people for months on end. My bets are many will never return.
This tragedy is still outside most of our comprehension. We're just getting bits and pieces of what's going on in most of this area. There's almost no communications, a corporate media more interested in putting on "picutres" than reporting and federal government that is ready to play politics with this tragedy the first time they're called into account.
I wish I could think positive here.
