CNN implied earlier that they were, but I haven't seen any confirmation.
It will make a HUGE difference in whether or not the French Quarter is destroyed.
Does anybody know for sure?

The water in New Orleans continues to get deeper. It is expected to continue until New Orleans and the lake are level.

CNN reported that one Mississippi levee was breached, but I haven't heard them repeat that claim.
It's a huge difference - at least 10 feet.
It's the difference between a French Quarter and a lake.
