Fmr Mayor of NOLA tearing Bush a new one on CNN
Talking about how we have the resources, we have them for Iraq, that the president needs to send what they need to save NOLA. Lots of emotion in his voice.

3. The best I can hope or pray for
Is that the rest of the country wakes the heck up. I am hoping that a few someones will take this administration to prison for HURTING this country in such a selfishly VILE way. May they all go to JAIL and be seen for the utter lunatics that they are. Man where is the heart in these "leaders"?

14. Thanks! That was very
Pertinent to what goes on..a la "Bowling for Columbine" from Michael Moore.

The media wants to instill fear and control us(a la "American Idiot" by Green Day).

And wouldn't let Bush off the hook even after Soledad tried to defend Bush by saying that he declared NOLA a state of emergency before the storm and he's doing a flyover on Friday. Mr. Mayor responded, "We don't have till Friday, NO could be gone by then. The President is the only one with the resources we need to save NO!"

Actually, he scared me and really brought home how truly dire this situation is.

His voice and demeanor really emphasized that NO will be no more unless Bush gets up off his ass and does something.

9. What good? None, absolutely none
There are plenty of Feds on the ground who could tell higher ups exactly what the situation is. They don't need GWB to determine the amount of damage.

My only hope for those people and the rest of the US, is that we finally wake up.

That mofo in office along with the rest of cronies don't give a fuck.

Photo-ops won't be enough to cover their asses.

12. We need to get his interview everywhere!
This guy was the best, most adament public official I have heard yet demanding Bush Act NOW to send the entire resources of the Federal Government and Military NOW to stop the flooding.

He said the Governor and Mayor do not have the resources. That the Corps of Engineers is not enough! We need MORE help NOW!

"Friday may be too late!"

NEED VIDEO!

or transcript...

15. Bush doesn't give a fuck about New Orleans...
Edited on Wed Aug-31-05 08:56 AM by Swamp Rat
He could have ordered the US military on MONDAY to plug up the holes in the levee with barges filled with sand, but he didn't... why?

I want to know WHY the president of the United States of America did not act to save New Orleans. I want to know why my mother is still lost and not rescued by now.

37. I was hoping for someone to pull a Belushi on him.
Like John did to Steven Bishop in Animal House, only not say 'sorry' afterwards.

But, detached from reality, bubble boy played on. Tagline, tagline, tagline.

17. He was great. The only person I've seen so far
whose sense of urgency matches the pictures we're seeing. I keep thinking of all the people that might still be trapped in the attics of those houses. I also keep thinking that if this had happened in an election year, (or to a wealthy area of the country) Shrub would be moving a lot faster.

22. CNN tried to preempt the criticism last night by claiming over 60%
of National Guard personnel were still in their states of La, Ms, Al, and Fl (75% in some cases). Of course, they didn't touch the issue of equipment, and they didn't touch the issue of whether those remaining were bureaucrats and paperpushers. This was on Aaron Brown after 10pm CDT.

31. They also never mention those NG members probably live in the affected...
areas.

Hard to concentrate on shooting looters when it may be
your brother or sister, you're worried about just exactly
how far under water your house is, or if your family is
okay.

A fact which is completely neglected.

Edited on Wed Aug-31-05 09:26 AM by Triana
They're just left flapping alone in the wind by bu$hco. They've got nothing to work with and FEMA and OHS - Federal agencies are practically useless and may do more harm than good (see yesterday's rather odd diversion of Blackhawks from the levee repair). Nat Guard when they arrive, might be able to help some, but too many of them are in Iraq, too.
