George Will says Administration should admit it was wrong
about WMDs in Iraq.

He was on Newsnight with Aaron Brown and said that the Administration obviously made a mistake and should own up to it.

Brown asked him if (and I'm paraphrasing here) the Saddam was a bad man excuse was enough to go to war over and Will said "No". He quoted Adams about the US should not go about the world seeking monsters to destroy.

He said that the administration's other reason : to foster democracy in the region was a stretch.

The sky must be falling. I can't believe George Will actually criticised the Bush* administration.

He did say, however, that the economy was getting stronger and cited the growth in the GNP and that alone would re-elect Bush...

Said the democratic party was still looking for a reason to replace Bush (what planet has he been on?)

16. Will vs Way
One of the positive qualities conservatives have had in the past has been their loyalty. Obviously Will was never more than a fair weather Republican. He sees the writing on the wall and wants to get out front in calling for the White House to take corrective action. He's not a circle-the-wagons, stand-by-your-man type.

Besides kicking the Bush White House while they're down, this is also a great career move on Will's part. Great timing, asshole.

10. Am I dreaming tonight??
I can't keep up with how fast news is happening tonight. All day the bushies have been getting their asses handed to them over treasongate, Rove, Libby, Cheney named. Pigboy get's canned - then a story comes out about pigboy being connected to a drug ring. Then a long story about Arnold and several disgusting accounts of groping women. Then another one that Linda Tripp lost her lawsuit.

Oh, and the threads about the freepers going insane because it's us libruls fault all these turdballs are flying. I'm watching Repubs all day come out against the bushies. Now this.

Somebody pinch me ...

11. A canary in the coal mine?
Will is close to the Bushes -- they even go over to his home for dinner. He must be trying that old chinese trick where you spin two plates at the same time.

I've been waiting to see Pugs peel away from Bushco.

How long until a primary challenger enters the fray?

13. And I can't believe that Will criticized
Bush for the right reasons. No nation should go around looking for bad guys to clean up: there are too many bad guys and always will be. You have to have really good reasons on top of the fact that your enemy is a bad guy. The Junta spelled out their reasons in PNAC, a hopelessly foolish pipe dream that was so silly it might have been written by a teenage Risk player. America has been trying to use our own cultural lenses to view the Mid-East for half a century. While this might work on Europe, because our culture is similar, the Mid-East has a number of alien cultures. It will never work: we can't understand them, and we can't convert them into Americans: all the Middle-Easterners who want to be Americans moved here already. The Junta has been called Mayberry Machiavellians numerous times, but that is really unfair to both Machiavellians and folks from Mayberry, even the wicked ones. The Bush Idiots are more like a bull in a china shop correctly convinced that if they destroy all the china and gore all the help, that they will be alive and look spectacular in all the rubble.

17. George Will also told people to vote "No on the Recall"
He's one of the few conservatives I'd actually pay some attention to. I don't always agree with him, but he's smart and says some insightful things sometimes. For instance, he urged conservatives to vote "No" on the California Recall.
