Guarded Enthusiasm
So today seems like one of the good days for democrats...finally after all this time. I'm just a bit guarded in my enthusiams though, let me explain why.

1. Rush fired from ESPN. At first it looks like a big deal but I dont really think it is. Rush will lose a miniscule amount of fans for what he said and he'll be back on EIB doing what he always does. Everyone else in the mainstream knew he was far right and sensationalist in his biased views, he wasn't just gonna pick up a few million fans and use football as a vehicle to get voters voting for republicans. I think it was a hobby and its just a slap in the face from which he will recover and people in the mainstream will forget by next tuesday, while the left will wave it like a flag and the right will let it fester and plot their revenge on some little old lady.

2. The Leak - The Plame Affair- I see Bush getting off on this one, I think some mildly important person will get the can for either leaking the story or for ineptitude in containing that information. I don't think we'll have the paper trail to nail it on one of the big guns. This is a black eye if it manifests into anything but I think this administration has some kind of squirmy way to weasel out of a lot of things.

3. The attack on Ahhnuld supposedly starting tomorrow. Is this right? I may have read it wrong but someone from the LA paper was gonna release something? I just have a fear that it will be inconsequential and be a non factor.

I'm not trying to be negative, I just don't wanna get my hopes up and see nothing end up happening. There are people on the left and right who care fervently about these issues, but I feel the majority of people will probably fall somewhere in the middle both on the issues and in their apathy to these issues. It's that majority of people that need to be affected by this stuff. We're already sold on it.

1. I don't think you are being negative...
...you're opinion seems right on too me. All the dittoheads will rally around rush. After all he is a victem of the "liberal media" afterall. As for Le Affair Plame, it's got no legs. Some flunky will get hung out to dry and it will fade away long before the election. I think the Arnold bit will be women saying he "man handled' them. That might cause him some problems. I hope so.

2. Enthusiasm Gets You There
Pessimism is a safe way to hedge your bets, but it's also a self-fulfilling prophecy. Get excited enough to get involved. Every chink in the armor will strengthen us and weaken them.

5. It is vital that we remain involved, but
it is also vital to remember what enrages us, things that we accept as holy writ are for the most part ignored by the public at large. Those are the folks we need to convince it we want to depose bushco. That won't come from any of these "scandals" it will come from hard work in the trenches come the general election.

3. I feel the same way to an extent.
"Guarded Enthusiasm". So many of shrub's scandals looked so promising but did not hold up. I'm just conditioned now to hope for the best but expect the worst. I guess that comes from so many years of being a Saints fan. LOL!

6. Being happy doesn't mean we sit back
This firing/resignation of Rush is a glimmer of hope at this point. And it energizes us. It's evidence that the ultra right wing racist, cheap labor economy ilk are not as powerful as they think they are. We know that we have a chance to take our country back.

So, tonight, we party. Tomorrow, we jump back into the mosh pit of whatever it takes. We have to because Wilson is a patriot. He's earned our loyalty and every bit of protection we can provide, by our sheer numbers and tenacity, for his loved ones who were targeted as "fair game".

As for Arnold - he's deluded himself into thinking he created his own success in this race. Yes, the negativity is his to stew in. If it's accurate - too bad. He needs to wake up and smell the stench he's surrounded himself with. They're using him. No pity from me.

So, party tonight and get a good sleep. The sleep of the just. And we'll see you tomorrow on the flip side.

Nite-nite

7. Arnold is also in trouble for the type of loan
he took to fund some of his campaign. The papers to the court are supposed to be filed today. Bob Moholland mentioned this on Hardball last night.
