We heard chatter about some weather event possibly occuring during the summer, but all indications were that it would be a traditional weather event and that it would be overseas.

If the President had known that a hurricane would strike New Orleans on August 29th, 2005, he of course would have done everything he could have to prevent it.

But FEMA imagined EXACTLY that scenario way back in 2001 when it prepared and submitted a brief to the President.

And I quote from an article from Salon:

Bushit was going on advice from Condiliar. She said that the weather forecast -- "Katrina determined to strike Gulf coast" -- was just a historical piece of information. If only they could have imagined that Katrina was really going to strike, if they only could have had the exact coordinates, I'm sure that * would have done everything in his power to prepare for it.
