To the Editor.

What we are seeing unfolding on our TV screens is the type of disaster that leads most nations to place a call to Geneva. Alas I think our national pride is preventing our Government from doing all it can to abate the damage. This disaster is unprecedented in the history of the US, but not unprecedented in the History of the World. We saw similar massive damage in Central America. It is time we place a call to the International Red Cross and ask for help. This will get emergency workers in the field, as well at Technical Experts. They know how to do this, from refugee camps to reconstruction, This is a CAT 4 disaster and there is no shame in asking for help.
