The woman said she is not filling up her tank, only putting $6.30 -- enough to get her home. He asked what she thought about that and her answer may have surprised him because he panned away from her quickly. She said (paraphrasing), "I thought Iraq was about the oil. I don't know what happened with that. Maybe someone should ask George Bush."

They didn't do it for you and me. He wanted to make sure that Oil companies and the US military have all the oil they need to stay rich and powerful. He doesn't want to keep the price of gas down. Record gas prices = record profits for BushCo. If they control the oil when the price goes sky hight, then they get RICH like you wont believe. It will also make our military that much more powerful as other nations' armies will not be able to afford gas for tanks, jet fuel, power to produce steel, etc.

I remember back in 2001 he said, "Basically, Republicans want cheap oil.". He couldn't have been more wrong. What they want is to control the sources of oil so they can maximize profits.
