2. Wanna hear something really scary?
I personally know people who are like this! And, yes, they are die-hard repubs. Anything beyond talking about the weather or 'how about those Cubs?' requires getting the conversation on videotape. I try to talk with them as little as possible, however they are 'relatives' *sigh*. They also have this really proud/arrogant attitude of 'I mean what I say' (until they decide that they never said it in the first place)!

3. Yeah, it's weird, eh?
They all have these talking points, which I guess they get from Rush and Hannity and whoever else they're listening to. I still remember when my fiancee's dad, who's a devout Rush listener, started calling himself a "compassionate conservative" in 1999. he didn't really know what that meant, but he just kept repeating that he was a "compassionate conservative."

these are the type of people who would have made excellent nazi's, and i don't say that lightly. if you repeat something frequently enough and angrily enough to them, they accept it as fact. clearly, this is why W so frequently has those backdrops which emphasize his talking points ("defending america's freedom defending america's freedom defending america's freedom" etc.)

5. sometimes I feel like this
when talking to my girlfriend. I'm amazed she's not a republican. :)

Actually I do it too, But only because my memory is so bad sometimes I can't recall what i really did say, but I assure myself I must not have said what I'm being accused of.
