Remember the gas price wars of the old days?
When stations competed to have the LOWEST price gas?

Now it seems like a contest to have the highest priced gas. "Shit! The Citgo is selling for $2.87! We can raise our prices! Let's go $2.95!"

"Fuck! The BP just went $2.95! We can raise our prices!"

1. The Walmart gas station down the street went to $2.92
today while everyone around them was around $2.75. I guess they need to make up for that $1M donation.

2. oh yeah!
In the late 60's the lowest I can remember is 27 cents a gallon, with a free six pack of Coke with a fill up.

And someone pumped the gas and washed your windshield too.

4. Yeah, I was the guy washing the windshield, checking the tire pressure,
checking the oil, toping off the windshield washer tank and radiator. First job got me 65 cents an hour and the occasional quart of oil for my '58 Chevy Belair 2 door hardtop with police interceptor package (348 w 3x2, four speed, nylon biased tires and optional prayer beads).

Ah, the good old days when gas was cheap, education was separate but equal and us rednecks didn't know any better.

Not a shot at you xray, just an observation from some one who was there, did that and isn't particularly proud of the heritage.

If I could just go back and change things . . .

6. Yes! Lots of free stuff! I remember free glasses, toys for kiddies,
sodas, balls...

and they checked the oil, too.
