If the station up the corner from me doesn't have any when I need it I'm calling in to work. I'm lucky enough to have all the stores and services I need within walking distance. I do realize not everyone has things that close to them. But I'll be damned if I'm joining the panicked sheeple in my neighborhood making a run on the gas pumps. If enough people refuse to dance to the gas companies' tune, they'll have to start behaving.

I'm sure all of us would if we could - but we've got to get to work (or school) to pay our bills. I don't know anyone who can just refuse to buy gas anymore. They couldn't walk to work if they wanted. People can't just boycott gas unfortunately.
