By James Kunstler.

Enjoy.

BTW he's a guy that waxes poetically on our imminant doom due to energy markets collaping...Say hello to the $15/gallon Milk!

1. Hey, JM
I trust that you're as insulted by the imminent collapse of America as I am. Ain't this some shit?

2. In one sense I'm saddened, in another I'm rather optimistic.
It's not like the crazies like ourselves haven't been wailing about this sort of shit for years now!

I hate to quote Nader here but..."It's got to get worse before it gets better" of course I probably just mis-quoted him but WTF?

It is DEFINATELY getting worse.

Now lets not "Hope" for the "Better" but let us Organise, Educate and Agitate!

Ssssh...The collective heart of Humanity may win out yet.

PS~ How's tricks? Been to the Wasteland recently?

3. Haven't been to WoW in a couple of months.
I'm sick of arguing about a subject that means almost nothing to real life.

I'm not very optimistic at all. With gas prices going ballistic and the apparent botched response to Katrina - which may well be perceived as racially motivated - piled on top of our already shaky economy, I seriously wonder if the entire US is on the brink of collapse. It doesn't seem at all far-fetched. I don't think that that is cause for optimism.

On the plus side, I got a nifty new cigarette holder! No nicotine stained fingers for me!

5. But don't you miss Manda????
As far as the almost assured collapse, regardless of the duration, a move to an anti-model of anti-consumption is almost guaranteed. Either that or "Mad Max" is real life.

However toss off the plutocrats and VOILA! Michael's "Heavan"! Did I mis-spell that word? Go figure...

What is it with Atheists and smoking? I only smoke when I drink....Which is daily...What is it with Atheists and drinking????

6. I had actually forgotten Manda
Bleah! What a person! Bleah.

This NO thing may actually radicalize me. I'm absolutely indignant at the idiocy of fretting over looting when human lives are at stake. Coupled with the gouging at the gas pumps, I'm almost at the conclusion that capitalism is an inherently corrupt system that causes more harm than good. That's not a conclusion that I particularly want to come to.

I have a private idea about why atheists smoke. Stating it publicly can only end badly. :)

7. It's not a conclusion that any middle-class American wants to come to.
Myself included.

However...Stop, no Socialist mumbo jumbo now...

I've GOT to go to sleep it's too late.

4. Low I.Q. people may stand by their uninformed opinions too

And be equally wrong as the high I.Q. types predisposed to display their inherent fitness. I think the "marshmellowing by modernity" is that we are protected by science from ourselves in many instances (air bags, idiot proofing, modern miracle medicine, excessive food so no need to hone survival skills etc.) allow many to harbor wildly inaccurate interpretation of their environment and still survive and reproduce. For example C average Bush lived a cocooned existence of family wealth and power which make him ill-equipped to deal with reality and unsuitable in any position of leadership.
