I've been watching WWL-TV off and on, and after a while watching footage of the destruction, and reading stories of looting, rape, and death feel self-defeating.

I am anxious to see boots on the ground. Rebuilding. Reforming. I am anxious for the positive push forward.

It will take a while for the water to recede, yet my first thought is, we knew this was coming. Why weren't federal emergency workers in place? It seems like the governor and the NO mayor were the only individuals planning for the coming travesty.

We are better than this. We should have been more prepared than this.

Furthermore, this is the Conservative Ethic being displayed right there on your TV. If you aren't wealthy, or stand in their way.... you die.

Get it? The poor in New Orleans are getting it. The drivers in line for gasoline are getting it.

It's Fascism. Get it?
