4. Not sure, but they made a *killing* off of Katrina (literally). An MSNBC
...reporter explained that the hurricane hit at the end of the month and - she cited specific stories - people were trying to borrow thirty or forty dollars for gas, so that they could leave. Since they couldn't get the money, they decided to take the chance and stay. If gas wasn't so expensive, I am sure at least a few lives could have been saved.
