Should we NATIONALIZE the oil refineries?
Make it into a non-profit operation, no profit mark-up at all.

2. And what might happen in the future...
if we have an admin like the * administration in charge of our government? They'd find a way to capitalise because we have programmed into complacency.

13. Actually
single payer health care could be the one issue that a lot of corporate America and the most liberal of democrats/progressives are getting a lot closer, if not ready to come together, on. And I'm thinking it can't be soon enough. The system we have is broke so bad it can't be fixed.

5. Yep. They have proven they cannot be trusted. Time to re-regulate
industies of all sorts. They never wanted 'free market' anyway, they just wanted to make the rules as they go along.

They fucked 'Grandma Millie' and laughed. Time to fuck 'em back and as Rove would say... fuck em hard.

6. Is the title of your book "How to get on a hit-list in 60 seconds"?
Seriously though, you're right... in British Columbia, sadly, our once nationalized natural gas company was made private... then the government decided to take off the law that said an energy company could not have more than 20 per cent foreign ownership.... and guess what now!?!
It's just been sold to kinder morgan... a child of enron.

Our provincial government sold us down the river...

10. Yes
Rest of the energy inudustry should also be nationalized. Oil companies are doing the same thing Enron did during the California Energy Crisis.

12. In other words you want the government both regulating and
managing the refineries.

The * administration. In charge of not only building and maintaining and running them, but also regulating the things they're to build, maintain and run. Efficiently.

17. I don't know about the refineries, but I think we should
nationalize all the extraction industries, like mining, logging and pumping oil. Natural resoureces belong to the people to be regulated by their honestly elected government representatives. The profits from the sales should go into our treasury to be used for education, health care, etc..

Refineries should be force to compete with each other for oil to refine. This should bring down the price of crude according to some very dear beliefs of the free market system. Let em sink or swim according to their own ideals.
