We heard from a lawyer from NOLA. Many, many records regarding |
pending cases in all manner of courts are now destroyed. Even the supreme court got hit. Think of it. This is just one sector of government.

2. I was at the Post Office....... |
the clerk warned me that all of the Passports are made down there, and all of those records (Birth Certificates, etc.) were in danger. She said there are bound to be delays in obtaining Passports now.

8. What about property records? |
Deeds and the like? If the records in the County Recorder's Office were destroyed and if the same deeds that people had in their own homes were lost in the flooding, there might be no way for people to prove they had outright ownership of the land under the house that flooded.

and I haven't heard about that causing any problems. Why would it cause any trouble in this case?
