1. People are gonna be deciding between gas to get to work and food
Food prices are gonna go up - takes fuel to grow it and get it to market. Plus the corporations are gonna gouge and blame it on the weather on top of the real cost increases

Plant a garden

11. Pachamama!

Want some Swiss Chard? Making more chard patties for the freezer this weekend - eggs, cheese, herbs, chard... cook em, freeze em, nuke em when you're hungry! Good stuff and good for ya! Easy to grow, folks, the kids can help. Teach them they can provide some of what they need. Might be a good lesson for coming times.

8. You'll need some oregano
Grows like a weed, plant some and your good to go.

Wait, what was I thinking? Eggplant, you simply must add eggplant to your garden. They are a lovely plant and super easy go grow.

16. oregano is still growing like a weed
after a few seeds i planted years ago. More than i can use actually, it's taking over like mint does, so ... i let it.

i wish i had more room for eggplant, zucchini and squash. I squeeze in some peppers, but they don't produce until the heat's over.

i'm feeling quilty talking about food now knowing that the hunger is overwhelming to the Gulf coast victims.

sorry, it's late. it's overwhelming reading the latest threads after being away for the day and catching up.
peace.

4. I've got a garden, but it's a little late in the year to expand it
First frost will probably be here in between three weeks and one month, but with global warming I might get a little longer . . .

10. lettuce and spinach should work in the time you have now
I put lettuce and spinach out every 2 weeks again when the worst of summer is over. Likes it cooler anyway. I'm not too far from your zone so I understand the conditions.

It's the time of year I talk to the tomatoes, trying to hurry them along before the frost makes me pick them green ;)

Oh yeah, he's Republican.

I haven't had the courage to ask him if he's experienced buyer's remorse yet.

7. We may have to leave the US and live in my wife's country, the UK.
As much as I don't want to have to do that. Working would be a problem, we might just have to.

The current government in the US is clearly screwing everything up. There are so many sheeple that do not understand what's happening.

We may have to leave.

Damn.
