They can deploy troops faster than that, complete with all the "stuff" they need.

23. Absolutely. It has never taken FEMA that long. I have lived through |
|
enough hurricanes to know that.

2. Bad weather? Hurricane prep is a little more than that. |
|
The trouble is, some people can't afford it. So they get the bread and milk.

12. We ate, just not a whole lot of popsicles and milk, |
|
if you catch my drift. I think even us poor people are smart enough to buy p-nut butter and koolaid, and fill up some milk jugs with water. :)

"Six days" is unacceptable.
Revamp all plans that include a six-day period.

22. Hell, there are places with food a lot closer than that! |
|
Baton Rouge is pretty much unscathed - it's an hour away. Lafayette? Two-three hours. Jackson, Mississippi? Three hours. Towns in Florida that weren't affected by the storm? Three hours or so.
This is so much bullshit. This is those rotten useless peckerheads trying to cover their asses. The food should have been organized BEFORE the friggin' storm even hit, ready to go wherever it was needed.

15. People won't survive 6 days without drinking water. |
|
FEMA may take 6 days, but others could have gotten water over there. Why didn't they make it clear they would not act so that people in surrounding areas could have done something themselves. There are civilians willing to make efforts to save the people of New Orleans.
