Who is running out of gasoline, and where?
-From last night's threads, it sounds like Atlanta is more or less out of gasoline.

-From a thread this morning, Charlotte, NC may soon run out of gasoline, with no replacement gas in sight.

Has anyone heard of other areas that may run out?

Which areas are fed by pipelines originating near New Orleans? Which areas are not fed by these pipelines?

1. Another reason WHY these things need to be gov't controlled:
- oil
- water
- electric

Privateers will squeeze you like a turnip for every penny and more.

2. We haven't run out, yet.
Here in NC, we get 90% of our gas from the pipelines that are inoperative. Gov Easely issued a statement of concern, asked people to conserve on gas, and hold off on Labor Day travel plans until we know more.

We are one of 10 states who rely on those pipelines for the majority of our gas.

3. Thanks
Good luck.

The corp. headquarters for the company I work for is in Charlotte. This may get really ugly before it gets better.

6. Atlanta is NOT out of gas!!!
It never was out of gas. The only reason it might be, is because of the god damned irresponsible media getting the public all worked up. Everyone around here(ATL) panicked yesterday and rushed to the gas stations... with every SUV they own.

8. ok...thanks for setting this straight
So there is gas in Atlanta, but it's at even more exhorbitant prices than the exhorbitant prices in the rest of the country. Is that about right?

7. Pittsburgh, PA.
Gas station down the street was empty last night, although prices prior to the shortage were reasonable.

I don't know if the rest of the city is like this or not.
