2. I teach at the University of Kansas.
All KU faculty received an email from our provost telling us that KU is also making arrangements for students from the area hit by Katrina to be admitted to KU if they want to be. We have been instructed to do whatever is necessary to help those students get up to speed in our courses, as they have missed the first 2 weeks of class, and because they will all be suffering from some degree of stress and trauma from the experience.

Needless to say, we will all do everything we can to help.

3. Well, where the hell is Jebbie?

Can't he step up to the plate? FSU in Tallahasse isn't all that far away from New Orleans.

FAU, FIU keep enrollment open for storm-stymied students

Florida Atlantic University has extended its enrollment period through Friday to students who were planning to attend schools affected by Hurricane Katrina.

The Boca Raton-based school already has accepted 12 students from Tulane University and Xavier University of Louisiana, which were two of at least seven colleges or universities in Louisiana that may not open at all this semester following the storm's devastation.
