So let me get this straight
They managed to get school busses to the Superdome BUT NOT WATER????

Why in the HELL didn't they fill the busses with supplies?

I'm also wondering why they haven't at least air dropped water and/or other supplies to the victims all along the gulf. Strap some parachutes on bottled water pallets and just drop them. Jesus freaking christ.

THEY NEED WATER! THEY'RE DYING!

Along with incompetence, among other things, I can't help but think one of the issues here is simply a lack of imagination.

2. It doesn't appear so
I haven't heard anything about them getting water to any of the victims, and now people in the Superdome are dying of dehydration.

9. There was speculation in the media last night that
the "renegade bus" had people from the overpass on it.

I don't know if it was ever confirmed. I haven't heard anything today on their status.

If they're still there, god help them. I'm sure some are starting to die of dehydration by now.

3. Homeland Security was busy
getting ready to promote "Emergency Preparedness Day". :argh:
There needs to be congressional hearings and indictments on this. I am talking criminal negligence, and manslaughter.
Need #1 in disaster relief is WATER. You don't need a friggin' committee to figure that out.

4. This morning, on GMA
shrub said that dropping water and supplies has not been known to be effective. Am I mistaken or did we not drop food and water for the people in Afghanistan when we arrived there? WTF is he talking about?

5. Somebody really dropped the ball.
Clearly there was no serious plan to deal with this catastrophe that everyone knew had a good chance to happen.

A disaster of this magnitude needed a Federal response plan in place that included all the details for helping the victims. What we've got now instead is an ad lib response. They make it up as they go along without adequate resources.

The Bush administration deserves to be skewered for this FUBAR. The slow, undermanned, and unplanned reaction is typical of everything they do. It's just like Iraq in that way. This is exactly what happens when the guy at the top is a lazy, self-satisfied slacker.

6. They are being fed right now
bulldog 3 on the scanner says they are thankful they are getting some food. So someone is feeding them. I'm assuming they have water as well now.

10. CNN: Guy from Pentagon:
"We have no direction from local authorities on where to send the troops."

EVEN I KNOW WHERE TO SEND THE TROOPS! DON'T THEY HAVE TV IN THE PENTAGON?

I'm so very angry at these idiots who can't manage their way out of a paper bag.
