So I sent this NYT editorial saying Shrub "gave the worst speech of his life" regarding NOLA to the local radio wingnut talkshow host. In an e-mail reply he only said, "The NYT having its panties in a wad over BUSH is like discovering the pope is Catholic."
But when he went on the air at 10 A.M. he went into a TIRADE. He said that supposedly the smartest people in the world work at the NYT and yet they wrote this TWADDLE, that, no, Shrub is not good at public speaking, but blaming him for the levees was JUST IGNORANT, that maintaining local infrastructure is a LOCAL responsibility, that people were just wanting to have their HANDS HELD, that CLINTON was good at feeling our pain but couldn't DO anything because of his personal problems, that RAYGUN *could* talk because "he had poetry in his soul" (sic), that the NYT writers were just being IGNORANT.
My reply:
Funny how Shrub is not held to anything he actually campaigned on, namely, no nation-building and yes-PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY. From Day 1, all we have heard is that NOTHING is Shrub's "fault" (responsibility) and there is NOTHING HE CAN DO, while at the same time that EVERYTHING happening since 2001 is CLINTON's fault and the positive things under CLINTON were NOT to his credit.
